Hammond's Holiday Humbugs

There was a large quantity of sugary dust dulling the appearance of the candies. The individual pieces were often chipped. The candies didn’t arrive in time for Christmas.

These brought back memories of candy from my childhood, so good👍
We used to get ribbon candy and again Hammond ribbon candy is the best.

Every year I have gone out of my way to buy nice holiday hard candies- ribbons for sure, but the old candy dish types. Probably 20 years ago I tried Hammonds. I toured the plant. I liked what I saw. I would buy the tin at the grocery store for a few years then I wanted more “homemade” and for a handful of year I’ve been trying different mom and pop shops. For some reason I decided to do Hammonds again this year but I thought I’d go straight to the source. The cherry candies tasted horrible- I wasn’t getting any cherry. Those are my favorite. And the cinnamon things completely overpowered or were over ratio in the mixes I got. I spent over $175 in candy and frankly, the lions share of it is getting thrown away. I wish I were happy with my purchase- I won’t make that mistake again. I liked it much better 20 years ago. Sorry
